Titleist clubs competition winner
Early anniversary present for Iwan from Clevedon. Find out more...
Iwan Bourton, a 31-year-old computer systems analyst from Clevedon, Somerset has won a set of Titleist clubs and a carry bag in the competition many hundreds of you entered during July and August. "To say I am totally and utterly gobsmacked is an absolute understatement. I had to double-check it wasn’t an April Fool," said Iwan, a regular Forum contributor, when we told him of his prize. The clubs – he has the choice of eight Titleist DCI 762s (3- to PW, with a Vokey Oil Can wedge, or nine Titleist Oversize 822s (3-SW) – will be custom-fitted at the Titleist dealer nearest to where he regularly plays golf with his dad at Clevedon. | |
The prize is an early present as he and his wife Rachael celebrate their first wedding anniversary on October 18. A big fan of Tiger Woods and psychological/putting coaches Bob Rotella and Harold Swash, Iwan has already won a number of club competitions off his 11 handicap, but rates the Clevedon Rugby Club Golf Society’s ‘Hookers' tour to Edinburgh as the highlight of his career. "Despite being a 'tour virgin' I led the singles competition after three days with 107 stableford points. It demanded that I wore the black and white ‘tour jacket’ during the evening - a most prestigious honour!" he recalls. "Unfortunately I suffered a Jean Van de Velde-style collapse on the last day." You can also win Titleist PTS golf balls if one of your reviews is chosen among the four best every month |
