Video: Chesson Hadley forced to play with bent putter
Caddy falls over and bends his player's flat stick at the Wells Fargo Championship
A bizarre incident occurred at the Wells Fargo Championship yesterday when Chesson Hadley was forced to play with a twisted putter after his caddy fell over and bent it.
Josh Svendsen, Hadley’s caddy, took a tumble when crossing a path and caused damage to his player’s flat stick while he played the back nine at Quail Hollow. The bagman didn’t notice the putter was damaged until he pulled it out the bag for Hadley to use on 10th green with the Green Mile looming large.
“I went down like a sack of potatoes,” said Josh Svendsen, Hadley’s caddie. "There were some television cables there that weren't quite buried."
“We didn’t miss any putts we should have made,” Hadley said, which would have been music his caddy’s ears.
