The PGA Europro Tour's Race to Desert Springs has concluded after last week's Newmachar Golf Club Challenge in Aberdeen, where Jack McDonald stormed through the leaderboard, shooting a six-under final round of 66 to beat Jonathan Caldwell by a shot and confirming his place inside the top 60 order of merit to secure his spot in Desert Springs.

“I played great right through today so I knew I just had to keep it going," said McDonald. "Just delighted to get the win. It feels amazing. The professional game is definitely different from the amateur game and I am just delighted to get the win. I am just going to enjoy it.”

The Tour Championships takes place at Desert Springs Resort in Almeria from October 30 - November 1, where the top 60 players in the order of merit from the PGA Europro season will battle it out to take home the biggest prize of the year.

Eight players from the Cobra Puma NXT LVL Academy have qualified for the event, putting them in a great position to have a winner in the academy in its first year of existence.

Will Enefer finished in 9th in the order of merit after a fantastic season saw him win £16,767.50 in prize money from 11 events, while Ryan Campbell wasn't far behind in 14th, winning £12,939.17.

The remaining six players from the NXT LVL Academy who have qualified are: Jack South, Joe Brooks, James Frazer, Sam Forgan, Oliver Clarke and Mark Laskey.
