Tyrrell Hatton came agonisingly close to a hole-in-one on day one of the WGC-HSBC Champions in China, clattering his ball against the pin on the par-3 4th hole.

Lucky to hit the pin and have a kick-in birdie, or unlucky not to go down for a one? We'll let you decide...

Hatton went on to card a level-par 72 to lie eight strokes off the early pace set by Masters champion Patrick Reed.
