As the best players in the world arrived at Carnoustie, 30 were picked to have their drivers tested ahead of the Open.
The clubs will be put through their paces to see whether they adhere to regulations. Â
The group, which included seven major champions, were asked to bring their clubs to the equipment standards office by 5pm on Tuesday.
This is the first time the R&A has called a random test of clubs.
