Ian Poulter is well known for his chest-beating and vein-bursting celebrations when playing for Team Europe at the Ryder Cup, but he is also known for his eccentric fashion choices.

We have seen him wear many different shirts and trouser combinations down the years on the PGA Tour and the European Tour, which led to him launching his own clothing brand.

But the Englishman has managed to find and dig out one shirt that made a lot of headlines back in 2008 when he was playing at a tournament in India.

Yes, you've guessed it. It's the shiny gold lamé top, which he wore with brown trousers and an orange visor on his head. It was truly an unforgettable outfit which evidently, Poulter hasn't forgotten himself.

The World No. 51 took to Twitter and shared a video of him wearing the shirt, which looks slightly tighter on him than it did in his more youthful days 13 years ago.

I'm not sure if we will see Poulter wearing it again any time soon on the tour, but he entertained fans with a little dance and showed his pleasure at rediscovering the famous top.

Golf fans reacted to Poulter's post on Twitter:

"That shirt again. Why do you have to keep reminding him," one fan said.

"Not sure about that Poults…" another fan said.

"Poults I am concerned you have heatstroke and gone slightly delirious please call 111 for advice," one fan commented.

"When your Ryder cup captain, you know what the outfits must be," another fan commented.

"The postman did not deliver on this outfit but very enjoyable video," one fan said.
