PGA Tour superstar Rory McIlroy leaned on doTERRA's Deep Blue Stick in between golf swings to soothe his back muscles and provide comfort as the Tour Championship progressed at East Lake.

McIlroy, 34, sustained a lower back injury earlier last week and he was seen in a lot of pain as he valiantly limped to a level-par 70 in the first round of the FedEx Cup finale.

As the tournament continued, McIlroy's back pain steadily improved and the defending FedEx champion eventually finished in solo fourth, albeit 13 strokes behind runaway winner Viktor Hovland

But thankfully there are many stretches, exercises and even products out there that can help us fight the pain barrier and soothe our back muscles.

One of the best products around to soothe painful lower back muscles is the doTERRA Deep Blue Stick, which is a convenient muscle soother used regularly by McIlroy.

The four-time major champion of course also relied heavily on a combination of stretches and gym work after his opening round to sort out his back pain at East Lake, but the doTERRA Deep Blue Stick certainly played a significant role in his healing process.

One PGA Tour pro was shocked to see McIlroy continue playing in the first round of the Tour Championship given the discomfort he was clearly in.

McIlroy said withdrawing from the season finale was never an option though.

A number of gamblers and fantasy players were irate McIlroy did not reveal his injury concerns during his Wednesday presser.

McIlroy will now continue his rehab in the physio room this week before he heads into the Irish Open and BMW PGA Championship on the DP World Tour.

There will also be time for a quick bachelor party before getting ready for the Ryder Cup in Italy at the end of the month.
