When will Tiger Woods play golf again? Will Tiger Woods ever play golf again?

These, seemingly, are the questions on everyone's lips after the 15-time major champion went under the knife once again.

In case you're wondering what has happened, GolfMagic has written this in-depth article about his latest injury.

Woods confirmed after competing in the 87th Masters in April 2023 that he had undergone a subtalar fusion

The procedure, performed by Dr. Martin O'Malley, was done to address the arthritis in his ankle caused by a previous talus fracture.

Whilst the surgery carries a 90 per cent success rate, one specialist reckons Woods could be out of action until the 2024 Masters.

Woods made a surprise return to PGA Tour action at the Genesis Invitational in February 2023 at Riviera Country Club.

He made the cut but finished 45th. His week was dominated by controversy once again after he was involved in an ill-advised prank

A photographer snapped Woods handing his good pal Justin Thomas a tampon after outdriving him.

Woods later apologised. Further controversy followed when it emerged he had split up Erica Herman. She sued the golfer for $30m

Confirmed

Woods has not confirmed the next event he will play.

But speaking after his return at the Genesis Invitational, Woods talked optimistically about his future.

He targeted playing in all four major championships in 2023 and maybe one or two others. This has now been thrown into doubt.

What has Tiger Woods has said about his future?

"Here's the deal: Like I told you guys last year, I'm not going to play any more than probably the majors and maybe a couple more. That's it, that's all my body will allow me to do. My back the way it is, all the surgeries I had on my back, my leg the way it is, I just can't. That's just going to be my future. So my intent last year was to play in all four majors, I got three of the four. Hopefully this year I can get all four and maybe sprinkle in a few here and there. But that's it for the rest of my career. I know that and I understand that. That's just my reality."
