Who is Jason Day's wife? Meet Ellie Day

Have you ever wondered who professional golfer Jason Day is married to? Well, you've come to the right place: this is everything you need to know about Ellie Day.

Jason met Ellie in 2005 when he was 17 years old. At the time, Ellie was working as a waitress. Two years later they went on their first date.

Things got off to a somewhat rocky start as Ellie's father is said to have been apprehensive of his daughter dating the athlete.

Ellie's father previously told the media:

"I had my dad hat on and cautioned Ellie. Strike one, he's a jock. Strike two, he's a professional. And strike three, he's from Australia. I exaggerated it as much as I could, but [she] blew her old man off. I told her to go in with eyes wide open."

And she did. It wasn't long until the couple got serious and four years later they tied the knot. They married in Bellville, Ohio.

Jason and Ellie have four children: a son named Dash, daughter Lucy and two sons named Arrow and Ozzie.

Born Elliot Harvey, she is two years younger than her husband. When she's not travelling the world and supporting her husband, she can be found working as the president of the Brighter Days Foundation.

Unsurprisingly, Brighter Days was founded by the couple. The foundation provides funding and resources to some of central Ohio's most impactful organisations.

Ellie likes to keep a low-profile, but does post various images on Instagram of the family throughout the year.

In interviews, she has previously described herself as a 'small town Ohio girl who happens to love a guy who is good at golf.'

More:

Jason and Ellie are also huge basketball fans.

In 2015, Ellie was involved in an unfortunate incident when NBA legend LeBron James accidentally tumbled into the crowd and landed on her.

As a result of that, she had to leave the arena on a stretcher but was fortunate to have suffered no lasting injuries.

LBJ later apologised. "Hope you come back to another game soon," he wrote.

Jason was previously ranked the No. 1 player in the world. At the height of his career Jason captured the 2015 PGA Championship

He has also amassed multiple victories on the PGA Tour. In recent years Day struggled with vertigo and persistent knee and back injuries.

In May 2023, Day returned to the winner's circle for the first time in five years with a victory at the AT&T Byron Nelson on the PGA Tour

In the immediate aftermath of the emotional victory, Day revealed he was close to quitting the game altogether. Something he never told Ellie.

Very sadly Jason's mother, Adenil 'Dening' Day, died in March 2022. Throw in the injury woes and it all appeared too much.

After his win, Jason said:

"I was in tears for a little bit there, and to think about what my mom went through from 2017 on to her passing last year and then to know that -- it was very emotional to go through and to experience what she was going through, then I had injuries on top of all of that going on in my life.
"To be honest, I was very close to calling it quits. I never told my wife that, but I was okay with it, just because it was a very stressful part of my life.
"Ellie, she never gave up on me trying to get back to the winner's circle again. She just always was pushing me to try and get better."
