Patented EDTS sole now offered with classic upper through new Tour Hybrid model

ECCO expands hybrid line for 2013

ECCO has introduced its 2013 men’s golf collection, featuring a broad range of styles highlighted by Tour Hybrid – the game’s first crossover model with a refined, traditional leather upper design.

The brand says Tour Hybrid (RRP £160; Gore-Tex £180), pictured above, is ideal for the player seeking shoes that seamlessly transition from the street to the golf course and clubhouse.

Built atop the award-winning ECCO Street EDTS (Ecco Dynamic Traction System) outsole, that also features in the BIOM Hybrid and Golf Street models, the Tour Hybrid boasts a patented configuration of approximately 100 moulded traction bars and 800-plus traction angles.

“Golf Street was followed by BIOM Golf, then BIOM Hybrid and now Tour Hybrid,” says ECCO’s head of global golf Michael Waack.

“Each year, our innovations set the bar even higher and gain ECCO legions of new fans worldwide who appreciate the unique comfort, performance and style characteristics of our shoes.”

The Tour Hybrid, available in wingtip Hydromax versions including black/brick, pictured above, is constructed from TPU – a highly durable, wear-resistant material providing superior grip in all conditions.

Other new developments in the 2013 collection – which will be worn in competition by Tour stars Fred Couples, Graeme McDowell, Thomas Bjorn, Thorbjørn Olesen, Thongchai Jaidee, Stuart Appleby, Bradley Dredge and Andreas Hartø – include the BIOM Hybrid, BIOM Golf and Golf Street.

ECCO says the BIOM Hybrid (RRP £160), pictured below, the game’s first and only performance hybrid model, is now available in a variety of colours and alternative upper pattern, while the Golf Street (RRP £115) is now available in Sport, Luxe, Textile, Camel and Hydromax versions.

And the collection concludes with BIOM Golf (RRP £185; Gore-Tex £205), the first Natural Motion golf shoe crafted in Calderra leather, which the brand says creates a unique matte finish that adds a rich, racing-inspired look.
