Ten of the Best: Lyle & Scott AW14 Collection

Lyle & Scott brand ambassador Seve Benson in Graphic Polo, £65

LYLE & SCOTT has introduced its AW14 Golf Collection boasting Scottish roots and knitwear made from the finest yarns.

With woollen expertise dating back to 1874, the brand prides itself on high quality, premium knitwear and this season does not disappoint.

The new Merino V-neck is a great addition to the range and is offered in a variety of seasonal colours. Known for its insulating properties, the soft natural fibres of Merino wool retain heat whilst remaining breathable making it ideal for the active golfer. Not forgetting of course, the addition of two new outerwear pieces including a lightweight pack away jacket.

It is important to the brand to have its Scottish heritage reflected within the collections and the strong Argyles and Tartans do just that. Deconstructed Argyles give a modern twist whilst the Lyle & Scott registered tartan is a true nod to the Scottish roots.

Founded in 1874 in the Scottish town of Hawick the brand celebrates an impressive 140 years of heritage this fall. Initially producing fine woollen underwear, the brand quickly moved to the forefront of the apparel and fashion industries as it transferred its woollen expertise into the production of high-quality knitted sweaters.

The Eagle landed on the golf course in the 60's, sported by golf's finest. The brand's emphasis on quality, expertise and craftsmanship was so highly regarded that it was appointed the Royal Warrant by HRH, The Duke of Edinburgh in 1975.

Brand ambassadors Morten Orum Madsen and Seve Benson both currently play on the European Tour and speak of quality, comfort and style whilst embroidery ambassador and two-time major champion Tony Jacklin CBE adds: "Everyone has their own memories of wearing Lyle & Scott, mine were achievement, performance and style to the highest level."

RRPs £50 to £110
