Bubba Watson confronts spectator after fan disrupts Lee Westwood’s shot at LIV Golf Indianapolis

Bubba Watson confronted a spectator at LIV Golf Indianapolis after a fan shouted towards his playing partner Lee Westwood as the Englishman prepared to hit a shot from the fairway.

Watson, Westwood and Bryson DeChambeau were playing together in the third round at The Club at Chatham Hills when a rowdy spectator loudly shouted: “Go Bryson, Bryson!”

Westwood subsequently backed away from his shot and turned towards the fan.

Watson then walked over to the spectator and appeared to challenge him over the interruption.

“Oh, you don’t want to say anything now? Say something... I’m looking at you, say it,” RangeGoats GC captain Watson was heard saying.

The spectator fell silent as the two-time Masters champion stared in his direction and nodded before the LIV Golf star returned to his position in the fairway.

Watson enters the final round in contention, sitting two shots off the lead with 18 holes remaining.

Michael La Sasso leads the tournament at 13-under par, with a tightly packed leaderboard behind him. 

DeChambeau is three shots off the pace, while Westwood sits four strokes back.

In total, 22 players are within four shots of the lead heading into Sunday's final round, setting up a potentially dramatic finish in Indiana.

The event marks the final tournament of the LIV Golf season following the cancellation of next week's planned Michigan event. 

LIV Golf Michigan was called off amid financial issues facing the league, bringing an earlier-than-expected end to the campaign.

While the focus remains on the team and individual battles in Indianapolis, Jon Rahm has already secured the Individual Championship. 

The Spaniard has now claimed the season-long title for a third consecutive year.
