Tommy Fleetwood has announced a major new off-course venture ahead of The Open Championship after partnering with Rossall School to launch the first Tommy Fleetwood Academy within a UK independent school.

The announcement comes as Fleetwood, 35, competes in this week's Genesis Scottish Open at The Renaissance Club in North Berwick. He will then turn his attention to The Open at Royal Birkdale next week, where the Englishman will bid to claim the first major title of his career on home soil.

The Lancashire-based school will officially become the fourth Tommy Fleetwood Academy location from September, marking the first time the academy's coaching model has been integrated into an educational institution.

Fleetwood's academy already operates from three established venues, earning a strong reputation for developing golfers of all ages and abilities.

Rossall becomes the latest addition to the network and its first school partner, creating a dedicated pathway for young players to combine elite golf coaching with full-time education.

Rossall's Golf Academy has already established itself as one of the country's leading school programmes, having earned recognition from the Independent Schools Golf Association for its success in developing talented golfers.

Headmaster Andrew McBride described the agreement as a defining moment for the school.

"This is a landmark moment for Rossall School and one that fills us with enormous pride and excitement," said McBride.

"Our Golf Academy has already established itself as one of the leading school golf programmes in the country, with national success and an outstanding reputation for developing talented young players.

"To become the exclusive home of the Tommy Fleetwood Academy within the UK independent school sector is truly groundbreaking.

"This partnership reflects our ambition to provide exceptional opportunities for young people and to continue pushing the boundaries of what can be achieved in education and sport."

A key part of the collaboration is the launch of the Tommy Fleetwood Scholarship, a fully funded place at Rossall School that will be awarded to a young golfer who demonstrates outstanding talent, commitment and potential.

Fleetwood believes the partnership provides a unique opportunity to develop both golfers and students.

"Rossall's commitment to excellence, both in the classroom and on the golf course, immediately stood out to me," Fleetwood said.

"The school shares our belief that young athletes should be given every opportunity to develop as golfers, students and people.

"The Tommy Fleetwood Academy was created to inspire and support young golfers on their journey, and partnering with Rossall allows us to provide an exceptional pathway for talented players within an outstanding educational environment.

"The introduction of the Tommy Fleetwood Scholarship is particularly exciting because it will open doors for a young golfer who has the talent and determination to succeed. I can't wait to see what the future holds for the partnership and the students who will benefit from it."

Applications for the Tommy Fleetwood Scholarship are now open, with the programme set to begin ahead of the new academic year in September.
