The BMW Championship continues on Friday at Caves Valley Golf Club in Maryland.
European Ryder Cup hopeful Viktor Hovland was among the fast starters in round one of the second leg of the PGA Tour's playoffs.
Only the top 30 in the FedEx Cup standings at the conclusion of this tournament will earn a tee time at next week's season-ending Tour Championship at East Lake.
Hovland carded a solid three-under 67 at Caves Valley Golf Club on Thursday.
Unsurprisingly, World No.1 Scottie Scheffler also finds himself inside the top 10, whilst Masters champion Rory McIlroy looked sluggish in round one.
Scheffler and McIlroy are in the afternoon wave on Friday and will tee off at 13.38pm local time (18.38 BST).
