PGA Tour confirms third round of Memorial Tournament suspended for day due to storms
Second weather delay halts play at Muirfield Village with leaderboard tightly poised at the top.
The third round of the Memorial Tournament was suspended for a second time on Saturday at Muirfield Village, after persistent weather disruptions continued to impact play.
The round had originally been halted at 11:16am due to inclement conditions before play eventually resumed at 1:00pm local time.
However, once the leading groups were back on course, more thunderstorms soon appeared in the area.
The final pairing of J.T. Poston and Ryan Gerard managed to reach the sixth green before play was brought to a second halt at 4:34pm.
Some 90 minutes later, the PGA Tour confirmed play was suspended for the day.
"Play is suspended for the day at the Memorial Tournament presented by Workday due to golf course conditions following inclement weather," read a statement from the PGA Tour.
The PGA Tour has confirmed the third round of the Memorial Tournament will resume on Sunday at 7:30 am.
Final-round tee times will be approximately 11 am - 12:45 pm off Nos. 1 and 10 in groups of three.
At the top of the leaderboard as it stands, Poston and Gerard are tied for the lead at nine-under-par and one shot ahead of Sam Burns.
Eric Cole is back at six-under par, with Keegan Bradley, Wyndham Clark and Tommy Fleetwood rounding out the top five on four-under par.
Elsewhere, Rory McIlroy and Scottie Scheffler sit eight shots back at one-under-par, with only a few holes left to complete in their third rounds.
