Ian Wright had seen enough — and he was not sticking around for Roy Keane’s latest rant.

The Arsenal legend stunned viewers by walking off set after Keane launched into a brutal takedown of golf, just moments before Rory McIlroy was due to appear on The Overlap.

With Jamie Carragher, Gary Neville and Jill Scott looking on, the chat took a sharp left turn when the conversation drifted towards the fairways — and Keane wasted no time swinging the axe.

The former Manchester United skipper boldly declared that golf “looks easy”, mocking the way elite players are cheered for knocking in short putts.

Wright, a passionate golfer, instantly smelled danger.

He warned Keane he wanted no part of the debate — but Keane kept digging, and digging, and digging.

Eventually, Wright hit breaking point.

The 62-year-old couldn’t believe what he was hearing… and simply walked out.

Speaking on The Overlap, Keane kicked things off by saying: “I don’t play golf but it looks easy. I have to say. You just get it in the hole.”

Wright immediately shut it down: “I am not going into this..”

But Keane wasn’t done.

He doubled down with: “The best players in the world. The hole is there and I am here.

“I am one of the best in the world and I get it in the hole and everybody applauds it.

“You are just putting it in the hole. I am 100 per cent serious.”

That was enough. Watch what happened in the video at the bottom of the page.

Moments later, McIlroy finally joined the table — and the room erupted.

Keane greeted the five-time major winner and grand slam champion with a handshake and a hug, telling him: “Nice to see you, good to see you.”

McIlroy, clearly aware of what he was walking into, fired straight back: “I am very ready for Roy. Very ready.”

The Northern Irishman even presented Keane with a Masters flag, adding another layer of comedy to the already chaotic scene.

McIlroy had written on the flag: “Thanks for all the great memories watching United over the years- Rory McIlroy, Masters champion.”

The World No.2 told Keane during his first Overlap appearance that he was snubbed an autograph as a young kid.

Once settled, McIlroy covered a wide range of talking points, including his openness to LIV Golf stars such as Jon Rahm and Bryson DeChambeau returning to the PGA Tour.

He also discussed the Ryder Cup, and suggested USA captain Keegan Bradley could have done more to curb the abuse at Bethpage Black, where Europe edged out the United States 15–13.
