Tommy Fleetwood makes wife and family admission during Travelers Championship
Tommy Fleetwood will look to see out a first PGA Tour title at the Travelers Championship in front of his family and children, which he describes as his "biggest supporters" at TPC River Highlands.
Tommy Fleetwood admits his wife Clare, son Frankie and stepsons Oscar and Murray are his "biggest supporters" as he goes in search of capturing his first PGA Tour title at the Travelers Championship on Sunday.
Fleetwood, 34, holds a commanding three-shot lead with 18 holes left to play at TPC River Highlands.
The popular Englishman fired a brilliant 63 on Saturday to vault to 16-under par.
Fleetwood has won seven times on the DP World Tour but he has yet to etch his name on silverware on the PGA Tour.
He has finished runner-up five times on the PGA Tour, among 41 top-10 finishes without a win.
That is a record active streak on the PGA Tour, which dates back to 1983 since records began.
Fleetwood is now looking to set the record straight in his 159th appearance on the PGA Tour at the Travelers Championship this week.
And he will look to do so with his wife Clare, 56, son Frankie and two stepsons, Oscar and Murray, all on the road with him in Connecticut.
"Yeah, they're great. My biggest supporters completely," Fleetwood replied when asked by a reporter what it means to have his family out there with him this week.
"They love golf. They absolutely love it. It is always great having them out.
"I'm sort of one of the guys that probably, living where I live, does the most amount of travel and probably spends the most amount of time away from my family, if you like.
"So I do really love the weeks when they are out here."
Fleetwood not so long ago revealed he met his wife Clare more than 10 years ago when he was first started out on Tour.
Clare was a sports agent and set out to try and poach him for the company where she worked at the time.
The couple fell in love and married in the Bahamas in 2017.
Clare, who is 22 years older than her husband, now acts as Tommy's manager.
Tommy and Clare share one child together, Frankie, who they welcomed in September 2017, just months before their wedding day.
Frankie recently took part in the annual Par-3 Contest at The Masters in April where he gave one of the most incredible interviews of all time.
The interview was so on point that it drew laughter from Fleetwood and his playing partners Shane Lowry and Rory McIlroy, who could not believe the professionalism of Frankie's response.

Dad Tommy will be looking to take a leaf out of his son's book tonight as looks to try his hardest and win a first PGA Tour title at the Travelers Championship.
Fleetwood leads by three shots over Russell Henley and Keegan Bradley entering Sunday's final round.
He feels ready to join the winners' circle.
"I'm on top of a lot of stat lines for people that haven't won on the PGA Tour, so to always to be a No. 1 at something is always nice (laughing)," said Fleetwood.
"Yeah, of course I would love to win on the PGA Tour. I think it's like an element of your career that everybody wants, and I of course want it.
"I haven't, this year especially I don't feel like I've given myself -- I've given myself like a back end chance a couple of times this year, but I've not been in contention.
"So this is like my first real chance, so I'm really excited about that and looking forward to it. Again, it's easy to put pressure on yourself, and the longer things go on, the more people talk about it, of course they do.
"But there's also things that I'm very proud about as well, like my consistency, where I stand FedExCups and World Rankings and things like that.
"So there's a lot to be happy about, but, you know, of course, I'm not going to, you know, be silly and say I don't care about it, of course I want to win, and hopefully it will happen sooner rather than later."
