Travelers Championship Betting Tips: Expert Picks to land the PGA Tour's final Signature Event of 2026
Travelers Championship Expert Picks: Check out Andy Roberts' tips for the last Signature Event of the 2026 PGA Tour season at TPC River Highlands.
Our betting picks endured another frustrating week at the U.S. Open, with Tommy Fleetwood (25/1) threatening to give us a run before eventually finishing tied 11th.
With June yet to deliver the returns we'd hoped for, we're looking to finish the month strongly at the PGA Tour's final Signature Event of the season — the Travelers Championship at TPC River Highlands.
The world's best return to action after last week's U.S. Open, won by Wyndham Clark, while Rory McIlroy is the headline absentee after opting to skip his third Signature Event of the campaign.
McIlroy's decision leaves the door wide open for one man in particular, and our expert tipster Andy Roberts believes this could finally be Scottie Scheffler's week.
Let's dive in...
TRAVELERS CHAMPIONSHIP BETTING TIPS
Pick 1: Scottie Scheffler (Win)
Best Odds: 9/2
Scottie Scheffler has been knocking on the door all season, and I'm convinced this is the week he finally adds a second PGA Tour title of 2026, and in this tournament.
The world number one remains the standout player on the PGA Tour statistically, leading both Strokes Gained: Total (2.204) and Strokes Gained: Tee-to-Green (1.737).
The problem has simply been converting those elite performances into victories.
Since winning The American Express in January, Scheffler has piled up seven top-five finishes but has lacked the ruthless edge we've become accustomed to seeing in recent seasons.
The culprit has largely been the putter.
By most standards, ranking 18th in Strokes Gained: Putting would be excellent. By Scheffler's standards, it's the difference between contending and winning.
The four-time major champion also sits 23rd in putting average and 27th in total putting, and that weakness was exposed again at the U.S. Open where too many makeable chances slipped by.
The encouraging sign is that everything else remains in place.
Scheffler arrives off a tied-fourth finish at Shinnecock Hills and should be one of the fresher players in the field after playing a lighter schedule than many of his rivals over recent weeks.
TPC River Highlands is also a venue where he thrives.
He lifted the trophy here in 2024 and has recorded three consecutive top-six finishes at the Travelers Championship.
Scheffler's scoring average of 66.86 here ranks among the best in the field over the last several years.
With world number two McIlroy absent and a course that perfectly suits his strengths, the opportunity is there for Scheffler to remind everyone why he's still the dominant force in world golf.
At best odds of 9/2 before Thursday's first round, the price is short but far from unreasonable. We've regularly seen him priced closer to 3/1 this season.
If the putter warms up even slightly, I expect Scheffler to be extremely difficult to beat.
Bet: Scottie Scheffler to win @ 9/2
If that's too short for you, I've found some each-way value...
Pick 2: J.T. Poston (e/w)
Best Odds: 66/1
For those looking for a bigger-priced option, J.T. Poston stands out as an excellent each-way play.
The American continued his impressive run of form with a tied-fourth finish at the U.S. Open, the best major result of his career.
While a slightly disappointing finish on Sunday denied him a genuine chance of posting a clubhouse target, his final-round 67 was one of the best scores of the day.
Poston has quietly become one of the hottest players on the PGA Tour this month.
He won the biggest title of his career at Jack Nicklaus' Memorial Tournament earlier this month and heads to Connecticut with plenty of confidence and momentum.
As is often the case with Poston, his putting has been the driving force behind his success. When the world number 32 gets hot on the greens, he can compete with anyone.
His course form is also encouraging.
Poston finished runner-up behind Xander Schauffele at the Travelers Championship in 2022 and has previously shown he can take apart TPC River Highlands when his game is firing.
None of his current season-long statistics jump off the page, but golf betting isn't always about the numbers.
Sometimes golf betting is about backing a player at the right time, and Poston feels like exactly that type of selection.
Several bookmakers are offering 66/1 with enhanced each-way terms of 1/5 odds for six places, which represents excellent value given his recent form.
If he maintains the level we've seen over the last few weeks, a place return looks more than achievable — and he has enough confidence to threaten the leaders if things fall his way.
Bet: J.T. Poston each-way @ 66/1 (1/5 odds, 6 places)
