The 2026 Presidents Cup gets underway at Medinah Country Club on Thursday 24 September, with five fourballs matches kicking off the opening day of action.

Brandt Snedeker's Team USA will be looking to continue the Americans' remarkable dominance in the biennial team competition. The United States have won 13 of the 15 Presidents Cups since the event was first played in 1994, including the last 10 editions in succession.
The International team has won just once, in 1998, while the 2003 Presidents Cup ended in a tie. Geoff Ogilvy's Internationals will therefore be chasing only their second outright victory — and their first in 28 years.
On paper, the Internationals face another formidable challenge. Eight of the world's top 24 players heading into the contest represent the United States, underlining the strength of Snedeker's squad.
There are 30 points available across the week, with the first team to reach 15.5 points securing the Presidents Cup.
The opening session features five fourballs matches on Thursday, followed by five foursomes matches on Friday.
Saturday then brings eight matches, with four morning fourballs followed by four afternoon foursomes, before 12 singles matches on Sunday decide the overall winner.
For now, the focus is firmly on Day 1.

The five Day 1 fourballs matches will be announced live on Golf Channel's Live From the Presidents Cup at 3:45 p.m. CT on Wednesday, as Snedeker and Ogilvy make their selections.
With only five matches on the card, it means two players on both teams will sit out the first day's play at Medinah.
The tee times are set but we are just waiting for the pairings to be released.
