Presidents Cup Day 2 Foursomes: Pairings and Tee Times at Medinah Country Club

The United States hold a 3-2 lead over the International team after an eventful opening day of the Presidents Cup at Medinah Country Club.

Five four-ball matches were played on Thursday, with the Americans edging the session after victories for Scottie Scheffler and Sam Burns, Justin Thomas and Jackson Koivun, and Wyndham Clark and Collin Morikawa.

Scheffler and Burns got the USA off to a winning start, beating Min Woo Lee and Sungjae Im by one hole.

The International team hit back in the second match as Hideki Matsuyama and Ryo Hisatsune defeated Cameron Young and Xander Schauffele 3&1.

Thomas and debutant Koivun restored the American advantage with an impressive 4&3 win over Corey Conners and Nico Echavarria.

Clark and Morikawa then extended the lead, overcoming Ryan Fox and Adam Scott 3&2.

An inspired performance from Tom Kim and Si Woo Kim then defeated Chris Gotterup and Patrick Cantlay 3&2 in the fifth and final match.

It means the U.S side, led by Brandt Snedeker, will take a one-point advantage over Geoff Ogilvy's International side heading into the second day of the 16th contest.

Five foursomes matches will be contested on Friday.
