"It looks similar to me": Rory McIlroy reacts to US Ryder Cup T-shirt blunder
How did Rory McIlroy react when he was shown an official Team USA Ryder Cup T-shirt that appears to have his silhouette on the front?
Rory McIlroy was highly amused when he was shown a picture of American Ryder Cup T-shirts that appear to have his silhouette on the front.
McIlroy was asked for his opinion on the controversial shirt which has been slammed by golf fans in the US, with many expressing their anger and disbelief on social media.
The Ralph Lauren T-shirt is available to purchase on the official Ryder Cup website in navy for $65, but it is the image, rather than the price, that has caused consternation.
"Yikes fire the intern," said one fan, while another wrote: "Appears to be???? That IS Rory. Unreal."
"You couldn't make it up," typed another, and one American added:"Surely they weren’t this stupid. Euros are going to have a field day..."

McIlroy certainly found the funny side after learning of the controversy, although he did hint that it might be a different player on the shirt, and he is ALSO not American!
"Can you confirm or deny that that is a silhouette of Rory McIlroy on the T-shirt," Sky Sports reporter Jamie Weir asked McIlroy.
"It looks more like Adam Scott than me, I think," said the world No 2 with a wry grin. "Yeah, it looks a little similar to me, I don't know!"
And when Weir reminded McIlroy that there is likely to be "loads of American fans at Bethpage with a silhouette of Rory McIlroy on their tops", his reply was simple.
"That's okay, that's fine. I won't mind that," he said.
