Ryder Cup officials drop major bombshell regarding Opening Ceremony at Bethpage
Ryder Cup officials have confirmed the Opening Ceremony has now been moved from Thursday to Wednesday at Bethpage.
The opening ceremony of the 2025 Ryder Cup will now take place on Wednesday instead of Thursday as initially scheduled at Bethpage.
The update was made by Ryder Cup officials as a result of forecast inclement weather on Thursday 25 September.
As a result, the Opening Ceremony has been brought forward to Wednesday.
The Opening Ceremony pre-show will begin at 3pm local time, with the Opening Ceremony scheduled for 4pm.
All Ryder Cup+ ticket holders for Thursday will now be admitted both Wednesday and Thursday.
Ryder Cup captains Keegan Bradley and Luke Donald will still announce Friday morning's foursomes pairings at 4pm on Thursday as initially planned.
The location for where Bradley and Donald will reveal their foursomes pairings for day one is yet to be determined.
The change in schedule marks the first time ever that the Opening Ceremony has been staged two days before the start of a Ryder Cup contested between United States and Europe.
The Opening Ceremony is where the captains of both Team USA and Team Europe give their speeches and introduce their players.
Each player's significant other is also in attendance along with tournament officials and golf fans of both teams.
