U.S. Junior Amateur results 2026: Miles Russell storms into final of prestigious tournament at Saucon Valley.
Miles Russell has moved one step closer to capturing the U.S. Junior Amateur title.
The 17-year-old, a good friend of Charlie Woods, advanced to Sunday's final at Saucon Valley Country Club after defeating his compatriot, Tyler Mawhinney, 2&1.
Russell took an early lead, winning the first two holes but trailed after Mawhinney fought back and birdied the 10th.
He won the next hole and moved ahead again at the 13th before closing out the match with a birdie putt at the 17th.
Russell clenched his fist as the putt dropped. He will meet Noah Maclauchlan in tomorrow's 36-hole final.
Russell entered the tournament as one of the pre-tournament favourites. He breezed through the stroke play portion of the tournament, finishing atop the leaderboard on 6-under alongside two others.
Charlie had the opportunity to advanced to the match play, but dropped out in a 12-man playoff.
During a crucial moment, a spectator distracted the golf legend's son with their phone.
Widely regarded as one of the top junior golfers in the world, Russell has already collected multiple major junior titles and has been a consistent presence near the top of elite amateur competitions.
Last month, Russell made his first ever major championship start at the 2025 U.S. Open.
Russell advanced through final qualifying with the aforementioned Woods, 17, on the bag.
Russell made the cut at Shinnecock Hills and finished in a share of 39th.
During the final round, he gave his father, Joe, a special Father's Day gift by allowing his pops to caddie for him on the final hole.
