J. Rahm -7 (16)
Jon Rahm tidies up his birdie (his third in a row) at the long 16th to join Vegas and Scheffler at the top of the leaderboard.

SW Kim -6, Homa -4, Scheffler -7 (9)
Scottie Scheffler heads to the back nine.
He finds fairway with his tee shot at the 10th then takes a rip at the green from nearly 300 yards away.
It's on a great line but his golf ball lands short of the green and darts right.
He'll fancy his chances of getting up and down for birdie though.
Rahm -6 (15)
The 16th at Quail Hollow is one of the toughest on the golf course, given it's a par-4 that measures 535 yards.
The hole presents no problem for Rahm on moving day, though, as the 2023 Masters champ rifles a drive then hits a towering iron shot to three feet.
One assumes he will tie for the lead shortly.
SW Kim -7, Homa -4, Scheffler -7 (8)
After an outrageous piece of fortune, Scheffler zips a wedge to around eight or nine feet to set up the chance to take the solo lead.
He misses.
Rahm -6 (15)
Jon Rahm joins the 6-under party with his sixth birdie of the day at the par-5 15th.
DeChambeau -6 (13*)
We mentioned Bryson had work to do to save par at the 11th. The reigning U.S. Open champion was up to the task and rattles home his par putt.
Bryson finds fairway and green at the 12th and almost holes his birdie putt from 49 feet. Easy par.
Onto the 13th now...
McIlroy +2 (8*)
Rory McIlroy's tee shot at the par-3 17th takes a few big bounces and eventually settles at the back of the green. His left-to-right slider races putt and he eventually makes a bogey.
Rahm -5 (14)
Fox -6 (8)
Ryan Fox just won't go away. Back-to-back birdies at the 7th and 8th sees the Kiwi jump into a tie for second.
Vegas -7 (7)
Our 36-hole leader had a rough start to the day with back-to-back bogeys.
But he's just clawed one back with a birdie at the 7th by rolling in a putt from five feet.
Scheffler -7 (8*)
Scheffler's on the tee at the short par-4 8th. He tries to hold his patented cut against the wind but overcooks it. It sails into the trees but a few seconds later his golf ball drops back into the fairway.
That is some piece of fortune.
"That ball was about to join the witness protection programme," chimes form US PGA champion Rich Beem on Sky Sports.
DeChambeau -6 (11*)
Bryson finds another fairway at the long par-4 11th but chooses the wrong club for his approach. His golf ball settles approximately 60 feet from the pin that is tucked at the back left.
His putt just about climbs over the ridge but stops well short. He'll do really well to save par now.
Fitzpatrick -5 (7*)
Matthew Fitzpatrick finds the greenside bunker at the par-5 7th. Using the wind as a backstop, he splashes out delightfully to within 10 feet for a great look at birdie.
SW Kim -7, Homa -4, Scheffler -7(7)
Scottie Scheffler ties the lead with a lovely birdie.
Max Homa does extremely well to save par after sending his second shot towards the creek at the back of the green.
Par for Si Woo Kim, also.
Scheffler -6 (7*)
Scottie is on the green in two shots at the par-5 7th. His long-range eagle putt comes up well short. He has a putt to tie the lead but it's still an extremely sloppy effort from the World No.1.
DeChambeau -6 (10)
Bryson takes a drop from the grandstand and he's faced with a fluffy lie and plenty of green to work with. His third lands softly and settles around nine feet from the hole. Can he tie the lead? Nope.
He remains 6-under.
Vegas -6, Pavon -5, Fitzpatrick -5 (6)
Matthieu Pavon has played really well here this week. So well, in fact, that he had not dropped a shot for 29 holes until a moment ago.
The Frenchman fails to save par from just off the 6th green.
His playing partners secure pars.
SW Kim -7, Homa -4, Scheffler -6 (6)
The World No.1 makes a classy par from the sand at the 6th to remain one stroke behind leader Si Woo Kim.
DeChambeau -6 (9)
Bryson DeChambeau has just sent his second shot through the back of the 10th green.
For context, the hole is 606 yards long.

McIlroy +1 (6*)
McIlroy sends his fourth shot at the 15th just short of the green and he's forced to play a flop shot.
He almost holes it to save par but it's an easy tap-in for bogey.
McIlroy E (6*)
Simply wild tee shot from Rory McIlroy there and he's forced to re-load.
Struggling to save par now...
Vegas -6, Pavon -6, Fitzpatrick -5 (4)
Matthew Fitzpatrick pays the price for missing the green at the par-3 4th.
He's face with an awkward stance and a double breaking putt.
His par attempt just burns the edge.
McIlroy E (5*)
Rory McIlroy launches a drive towards the green at the scorable par-4 14th.
He has a pitch from the side of the green and nearly holes out for eagle.
Easy birdie, mind.
