T-Mobile has issued a statement for support for their PGA Tour ambassador Wyndham Clark following his shocking tantrum in the final round  of the PGA Championship last Sunday.

Clark, 31, lost his head after sending an errant tee shot into the bunker down the par-4 16th.

As his ball was sailing into the sand, Clark violently threw his driver behind him and into a sponsor's board.

Clark's driver head flew off his shaft following impact with the sign guarding the tee box.

Just behind the board was an on-course marshal holding up a flag to inform spectators where the ball was headed.

The marshal - by the name of Chris Deiulio - has since taken to X / Twitter to reveal the incident "scared me to death".

Clark then took to social media to issue an apology to his fans over his actions.

The 2023 U.S. Open champion and three-time PGA Tour winner has asked for forgiveness.

"I would like to sincerely apologize for my behavior yesterday on Hole 16," wrote Clark.

"As professionals, we are expected to remain professionals even when frustrated and I unfortunately let me emotions get the best of me.

"My actions were uncalled for and completely inappropriate, making it clear that I have things I need to work on.

"I hold myself to a high standard, trying to always play for something bigger than myself, and yesterday I fell short of those standards.

"For that I am truly sorry.

"I promise to better the way I handle my frustrations on the course going forward, and hope you all can forgive me in due time."

Clark's lead sponsor, T-Mobile, which is splashed on his cap and his golf bag, has already given him forgiveness.

"You've got our support Wyndham," read T-Mobile's message to Clark, who joined the brand in April 2024.

"And the good news is that our 5G network is ready for almost anything - even if our signs aren't."

It's fair to say T-Mobile's message has divided opinion with golf fans on X / Twitter.
