8. Rockcliffe Hall Golf Club

As well as eight covered bays. Rockcliffe Hall's floodlit driving range also has 30 outdoor bays where golfers can hit balls off the turf. There is also a putting green, a practice fairway bunker and a short game area to enable you to hone all areas of your game. The practice facilities at Rockcliffe Hall are free to members and visitors warming up before playing the course.

9. Blackwell Grange Golf Club

Blackwell Grange's floodlit range has 23 bays and four target greens to aim at in the outfield. Blackwell Grange has relocated to the site where Stressholme Golf Club used to be based. It can be found just off the A66, south of Darlington near the River Tees.

10. Sunderland Golf Centre

This is one of the biggest ranges in the area, with 42 floodlit and covered bays. The range has targets, greens and chipping nets as well as left-handed and teaching bays. Sunderland Golf Centre is also a handy one for those without cars, as it is just a few hundred metres away from Seaburn train station.
