Carden Park celebrates milestone with hosting rights for Women’s PGA Cup
The prestigious event for PGA professionals will take place outside of the USA for the first time.

After a multi-year renovation project aimed at overhauling its hotel and two golf courses, Carden Park's transformation into a genuine Championship golf venue is now complete.
In recognition of its efforts, the Cheshire course will now play host to its highest-profile tournament yet, being named the venue for the upcoming Women's PGA Cup in a landmark moment both for the club and the competition itself.
One of the most prestigious tournaments for PGA professionals, the male and female PGA Cups bring together teams of pros from six different nations to compete over three days of stroke play golf.

Great Britain and Ireland compete as one unit, with professionals from the United States, Sweden, South Africa, Canada and Australia also taking part.
Founded in 2019 as a companion to the men's tournament, the Women's PGA Cup has always been held in the United States, having last taken place at Oregon's Sunriver Resort. Carden Park's hosting of the event takes the competition global for the first time, and is a landmark moment for a resort that has long held championship aspirations.
Heather MacRae will lead the GB&I side as Playing Captain, becoming the first captain in the team's history to compete alongside her team. Places were awarded through performances in the Women's PGA Professional Championship and the WPGA Series.
Set over 1,000 acres of picturesque Cheshire countryside, Carden Park has recently put the finishing touches on a host of renovations to both its two championship golf courses, its luxury hotel and adjoining spa. The Nicklaus course, designed by Jack Nicklaus and his son Steve, is Carden Park's showpiece course, and will host the competition on the first weekend of September.
You can find out more about the event at the PGA's website and arrange a visit through Carden Park.
