Conclusion

Following the test, there were four fairways that Andy and Grant were chomping at the bit to talk about: TaylorMade RBZ Stage 2, Adams Speedline Super S, Callaway X Hot and PING G25.

While many people will have contrasting views on the same fairway wood, given it’s often the toughest club to strike cleanly off the deck, the RBZ Stage 2 was our champion on this occasion and we believe rightly so. Although we don’t particularly like its sound at impact, we can work with that as it ticks just about every box when it comes to distance, accuracy and getting the ball airborne.

The Adams Speedline Super S, Callaway X Hot and PING G25 finished narrowly behind in a tie for second, one point ahead of the powerful Cobra AMP Cell and eye-catching Mizuno JPX 825.

While we suggest you try numerous fairway woods and get yourself custom fit before you buy in order to find the right one for your game, we believe our test is a good idea of what you should be looking for this season.
