NEW: BEST GOLF HYBRIDS 2015

TESTED: Ten of the Best Golf Hybrids 2014

In our sixth in-depth Club Test series, we survey ten top-end hybrids launched within the last 12 months.

About the test

Golfmagic equipment writer Andy Roberts, a 7-handicapper, and Charlie Lemay, off 12, trialled ten different branded hybrids in stiff flex. Andy and Charlie were also joined by World of Golf PGA professional Grant Guerin for a third opinion on the clubs.

After warming up for ten minutes, Andy and Charlie each struck five balls off the deck with each hybrid and used Protracer to garner vital shot data.

Andy and Charlie then marked each hybrid out of five for appearance, and out of ten for both feel and performance. (Andy and Charlie both scored separately without consultation and the score presented for each hybrid is an average of the two). This generated an overall score out of 25 and the final scores and conclusion can be found on the last page of this feature.

With each hybrid, we have also provided details of set price, loft, lie angle (angle between centre of shaft and sole), length and shaft. The test was carried out in alphabetical order.
