Toptracer technology, a product from Topgolf Entertainment Group, is the world leader in ball-tracing technology and has revolutionised the way people watch and play golf since its inception. Today, the company has announced a string of exciting new updates for its driving range technology, headlined by the additions of Bethpage Black and Royal St. George’s Golf Club to its Virtual Golf mode.

Popular with golfers and non-traditional audiences alike, the driving range solution has transformed more than 250 golf driving ranges around the world into viable sports leisure and entertainment destinations. The engaging, tech-driven experience features multiple game modes, including Virtual Golf, where players can tackle some of the world’s greatest courses right from their driving range bay.

All-new for this summer, visitors at Toptracer Ranges can now tee it up at the 2019 PGA Championship venue and the 2021 Open Championship host, adding to a stellar Virtual Golf line-up which already includes the likes of Pebble Beach and The Old Course, St Andrews. The challenging par-3 eighth hole at Bethpage Black is also the new feature hole in the Closest to the Pin mode.

Speaking about the company’s latest updates, Toptracer President, Ben Sharpe, said: “We are very excited to be bringing not one, but two more world-class golf courses to our Virtual Golf mode for our guests to enjoy.

“Despite this year’s Open Championship being postponed, Toptracer Range technology will allow the world to see and play the links at Royal St. George’s, as well as attempt to master the notoriously difficult Bethpage Black, all from a driving range bay.

“This, along with other developments outlined, exemplifies our commitment to relentless innovation and continuous improvement from both a customer services and consumer experience perspective.”

In addition to the latest updates to Virtual Golf mode, Toptracer’s ambition to create a wholly inclusive platform can be seen in the development of a brand new, ultra-child friendly range game. Fun for all ages and abilities, ‘Go Fish’ can be played individually or as a team where players bid to capture each of the 24 different sea creatures in their virtual aquarium. As with other game modes, players can sign in via the Toptracer Range app to view their progress.

Completing the extensive list of new developments in the Toptracer armoury is an upgraded Mobile interface, with the addition of a new game mode. Capture the Flag is a 15-shot game that helps to improve accuracy and consistency by challenging players to aim at physical targets on their own range.

The latest updates to the Toptracer Range system further cement the company’s position as the core cog in growing the game initiatives, as it continues to discover new ways of creating mass appeal that’s sure to help introduce and engage future generations with the game of golf.
