We've tested a lot of golf GPS watches in the past but over the past few years we've seen the development of smartwatches that can do things we wouldn't have even dreamt were possible.

The Samsung Galaxy Golf Edition is jam-packed with fantastic features and although its RRP of £329.99 is a little steep, there are currently a lot of fantastic deals for this watch which means you can pick it up for much less.

GolfMagic's Alex Lodge was recently sent the watch to try out and it's safe to say he was very impressed. So check out the video below where Alex explains all of the features the Galaxy Golf Edition has to offer and how well it performs on the golf course.

The Samsung Galaxy Golf Edition Watch and its pre-installed Smart Caddie app are designed to ensure you can get on with your round from the get-go.

It seamlessly syncs to your mobile and gives you all the details with up to 40,000 course maps worldwide, short yardage tracking, and stroke numbers for effortless score keeping.

It even gives you smart notifications after each hole.

The watch is water resistant (50 metres) and its Super AMOLED display is made to excel, no matter what the conditions, with a touch screen and digital bezel for easy access to all your apps.

In terms of weight and design, the Samsung Galaxy watch is the perfect size to play golf in and it certainly looks fantastic.

It has a sleek, modern design that you'd be happy to wear on and off the course and its lightweight build doesn't put you off in the slightest while swinging a club, an issue that can occur with other golf watches.

The charging dock is a feature that we absolutely love. Some golf watches can be a touch fiddly with how you have to actually plug them in to charge them and in the past we've had watches break because of this.

By simply putting the Samsung Galaxy on the charging dock it then begins to charge, although if we are being picky, we like to see a fully charged device fresh out the box so we can get excited about using the product immediately.

After comparing the yardages on the Smart Caddie app to a laser rangefinder, the yardages were very accurate, although sometimes missed the mark by a yard or so, but that's completely understandable with a GPS watch.

The price tag on the watch is definitely a premium one, but this is more of a smartwatch than just a golf GPS device, so you expect to pay a little more for an item like this and as we mentioned before, you can get this product a lot cheaper than its RRP right now.
