Everything we know so far about FootJoy's big new shoe releases for 2026
Both FootJoy's famed Premiere series and Pro/SL shoes are set for full updates in the coming months, with Tour testing already well underway.

FootJoy's golf shoes famously sell themselves for the most part, which is just a natural perk when you make what is overwhelmingly the most popular footwear on tour.
That doesn't mean the brand is happy to rest on its laurels, however, and to kick off the 2026 season Footjoy has shared some major updates regarding its two biggest shoe releases of the year.
Reps from FootJoy have confirmed that both of its flagship shoe lines, the traditional spiked Premiere Series and the spikeless Pro/SL, will be getting ground-up remakes for the coming season, sending two already beloved models back at the very forefront of the game, with tour testing already well underway with input from all of its big-name players.

Famed for its classic stylings, classy leather upper and cleverly hidden comfort Premiere Series will be getting a complete re-imagining, with input from Premiere devotees Adam Scott, Cameron Young, Justin Thomas and Will Zalatoris. The latter rated the new shoes as a "12 out of 10" and went on to say he feels "like I’m at a competitive disadvantage if I’m not wearing these."
The Pro/SL, with its more casual style and much more pronounced cushioning, is also much loved on tour and has found fans in the likes of Sahith Theegala, who described the pending update as the 'best prototype I've ever tested'.
Per FootJoy, prototypes of updates for both models entered testing as early as the 2024 Tour Championship, with its roster of athletes consistently testing new designs in practice rounds for the 2025 season.

FootJoy have been cagey so far on exactly what new technology will be implemented in both new shoes for 2026, however we were able to gleam a couple of updates from the player quotes they provided. Cam Young said he felt a noticeable difference in weight from the old Premiere to the new, suggesting it'll have a much lighter upper and platform, while FootJoy says players can expect enhanced comfort and traction in the new model with the same stability Premiere Players love.
The new SL, meanwhile, is reportedly 30% lighter than the old model, with improved comfort, an all-new traction pattern, and an even more athletic fit.

We're yet to get hands on with either product just yet, but as soon as we get them on the course to test, you'll be the first to know.
