Tiger Woods makes Sun Day Red announcement ahead of U.S. Open

Tiger Woods' golf apparel and footwear company, Sun Day Red, has unveiled its new Summer Championship Collection ahead of next week's U.S. Open at Oakmont. 

Inspired by classic American colours and the tradition of golf's ultimate national championship, Sun Day Red by Tiger Woods states its new collection "embodies the precision and fortitude required to conquer the game's most demanding test." 

Sun Day Red has told GolfMagic that each garment in its Summer Championship Collection has been designed with insights from Woods' experience competing in the U.S. Open, which he has won three times in his career (2000, 2002, 2008). 

The brand has also designed some limited edition footwear in the collection, and it has also partnered with Vessel to design limited edition bags and head covers. 

Woods, 49, will unfortunately not be in action at the U.S. Open as he continues to recover from surgery that repaired a ruptured left Achilles tendon in March. 

The 15-time major champion is not expected to return to competitive action again until 2026. 

He has, however, been seen posing for a series of snaps during Sun Day Red's latest shoot ahead of golf's third major of the season.

Woods was also last week celebrating as his son Charlie Woods, 16, captured his first AJGA title at the Team TaylorMade Invitational.

Woods set up Sun Day Red in May 2024 shortly after he left Nike having represented the global sports retail giant for 27 years.

Rory McIlroy yesterday admitted the U.S. Open at Oakmont will be a "brutal test" where level par could very well be the winning score. 

McIlroy, who is competing in this week's RBC Canadian Open, paid a quick visit to Oakmont on Monday.
