Bryson DeChambeau has put a new set of irons into his bag one week before the 2025 U.S. Open

DeChambeau will debut the new set of custom irons this week at LIV Golf's stop in Virginia.

The 31-year-old American has swapped his 3D printed Avoda Golf Bryson DeChambeau Proto irons for a set of LA Golf Bad V3-W irons (5-PW).

DeChambeau had been using the 3D printed clubs since the 2023 Masters. They were approved by golf's rule makers on the eve of the major.

He used them to capture his second major championship title at Pinehurst No.2 last July and they have helped him to back-to-back top five performances at the first two majors of the year.

He played in the final group alongside Rory McIlroy at the 2025 Masters but laboured to a T5 finish. He also shared second place at the PGA Championship.

DeChambeau teased the new irons at the beginning of the year, telling Golf Digest they were created by him and LA Golf's chief design officer Jeff Meyer.

"You're going to see something special," DeChambeau said.

It is understood they were approved by the United States Golf Association on Tuesday.

FlushingIt reported that the one-off set cost $10,000 to make.

DeChambeau still searching for new golf ball

Whilst DeChambeau is happy with his driver, wedges and putter, the golfer has been struggling to find the perfect golf ball.

The American cruises at a ball speed of 190mph these days and he had been using a Titleist Pro V1x Left Dash.

To many experts, the Pro V1x is considered one of the best golf balls in the game.

But DeChambeau is not convinced it is the perfect fit for him.

DeChambeau was fairly erratic with his tee shots at Augusta National and he put it down to not having the correct ball.

"What I really think needs to happen, being pretty transparent here, is [I] just [need to] get a golf ball that flies a little straighter," said DeChambeau after the PGA Championship.

"Everybody talks about how straight the golf ball flies. Well, upwards of 190 like Rory and myself, it's actually quite difficult to control the golf ball."

He vowed to find a more suitable ball ahead of the third men's major, adding: "I'm going to work my butt to have make that happen. It's all up to manufacturing.

"We'll see what happens but I'm keen on finding something and I'm keen on improving. I'm excited for that."

DeChambeau is using a Titleist Pro V1x this week.
