Masahiro Kawamura made the most bizarre birdie of the day during the second round of the Cyprus Open at Aphrodite Hills on Friday, when he holed his second shot after missing the green by 70-yards on a par-3.

The long par-3 15th at Aphrodite Hills is certainly a testing hole, but for a professional golfer to miss the green by 70-yards with an iron in hand is quite a shocker.

Although Kawamura showed exactly why he's on the European Tour when he recovered in style, holing his next shot to make a birdie. Watch the shot for yourself below:

Kawamura shot a 4-under par score of 67 on day two in Cyprus, making six birdies throughout the day, with two bogeys blemishing the scorecard at the par-4 13th and par-3 17th.

It's not the first unusual birdie we have seen during the first of back-to-back events in Cyprus, with Callum Shinkwin making birdie at the final hole on Thursday, when his ball landed in a paper lunch bag from the tee.
