Former US Open champion Bryson DeChambeau has revealed that his father Jon has died.

In a heartfelt post on social media on Friday afternoon, DeChambeau paid tribute to his father who faced numerous health battles in his life.

"Love you Dad. I'm sad to see you go but you've been through way too much pain in this life. I'm so happy you are at peace. Now you get to be with me and watch me at every event I play. Thank you for being an amazing Dad and I'll see you in the next life," DeChambeau wrote at 4.14 pm.

"Life is short. Take every moment you can with your family and say I love you."

Golfers such as Ian Poulter, Sergio Garcia, Eugenio Lopez-Chacarra and Peter Uihlein posted their condolences to the eight-time PGA Tour winner.

In 2014, both of Jon's kidneys failed and he had a transplant in 2017 at the age of 57. He initially experienced kidney failure as a result of diabetes and his health declined as he waited for a transplant.

When Bryson DeChambeau joined LIV Golf back in June, he vowed to donate to the National Kidney Foundation in America which he said helped his father get his kidney transplant.
