Jason Day landed 'The Challenge: Japan Skins' match last night, defeating Tiger Woods, Rory McIlroy and home favourite Hideki Matsuyama to the spoils.

Fresh off a tie for 31st in The CJ Cup some 24 hours previous, Day whizzed over to Chiba, Japan on his private jet to take on Woods, McIlroy and Matsuyama for the inaugural skins match.

Day birdied the final hole for $100,000 skins to win the match with a total of eight skins and $210,000.

Woods needed to hole a 10-footer for birdie at the final hole to extend the match, but he missed, and he finished in tied second with McIlroy on $60,000, albeit he won five skins to the Northern Irishman's four.

Matsuyama, who finished tied third at The CJ Cup on Sunday, struggled for much of the match and only secured one skin for $20,000.
