Tiger Woods drained a 27-foot putt for eagle at the 18th hole to move into a tie for the lead on day one of the Tour Championship at East Lake.

Woods got off to a torrid start with a three-jab for bogey at the first, but then bounced back with birdies at the fifth, sixth, 12th and 14th before landing the decisive blow at the final hole to card a 5-under 67 alongside Rickie Fowler.

Despite starting out at 20th in the standings, the former world number one can still win the FedEx Cup should results go his way - but it will still be a tough ask given the strength in depth of those in contention.

Rory McIlroy was leading for the majority of his round until a three-putt bogey at the 12th, but he birdied the final hole to remain well in contention on 3-under.
