Tiger's ex girlfriend: I wish he would have listened to me a little more

It's pretty uncommon for a sports star to have to frequently answer questions about an ex-partner during a media interview, but that's just a standard day in the life of Tiger Woods' former lover Lindsey Vonn.

After answering topics around the upcoming 2018 Winter Olympics, the American alpine ski racer was questioned by Sports Illustrated about Woods' comeback on the PGA Tour this season.

Woods, who finished tied ninth in his first tournament back in 10 months from back surgery last month, will return to action on the PGA Tour at the Farmers Insurance Open on January 25.

Vonn, 33, was very complimentary of her ex-boyfriend, saying they are still friends and that she hopes he can win tournaments again. However, she couldn't help but throw in a little dig at the 14-time major champion.

"I loved him and we're still friends," said Vonn. "Sometimes, I wish he would have listened to me a little more, but he's very stubborn and he likes to go his own way.

"I hope this latest comeback sticks. I hope he goes back to winning tournaments."

Vonn also revealed how difficult it was to get dragged into the social media limelight with Woods.

"I had to learn to have thicker skin, right away," added Vonn, who went on to say she felt particularly violated when nude photos of the two were leaked online in August 2017.

Vonn's breakup with Woods after more than two years together was all the more difficult because of the intense spotlight.

Lindsey's sister Karin said: "It’s hard enough to break up with a boyfriend without having to issue a press release about it."
