Tiger Woods overcame Rory McIlroy in the last 16 of the WGC Match Play Championship but was then sent packing from the tournament by Denmark's Lucas Bjerregaard in the quarter final.
Woods moved into a 2 up lead around the turn but the Dane fought back superbly with birdies at 12 and 13 before draining a 35-foot bomb for eagle to tie the game.
After tying the par-3 17th with birdies, Woods made the error of leaving his approach short in the greenside bunker.
Bjerregaard missed his 12-foot putt for birdie, but Woods failed to convert from four feet to extend the match into a sudden-death playoff.

Bjerregaard will now face Matt Kuchar or Sergio Garcia in the semi final, with Francesco Molinari taking on last year's runner-up Kevin Kisner in the other match.
