Tiger is fed up!

Tiger Woods is furious at himself at 12. He has a great look at birdie but misses left.

He walks to the cup quickly and tidies up the par.

Woods will remain at 5-over whilst his playing partners Fitzpatrick and Homa are level par.

Never change, Jordan Spieth...

Some classic Jordan Spieth chatter with his caddie Michael Greller here:

17:32
The final few players are almost done...

The groups who were out last are just finishing up their final few holes.

And with that we'll end our coverage for day one of the Genesis Scottish Open at The Renaissance Club.

We hope you've enjoyed the coverage. We'll see you tomorrow morning for more.

The story of the day belongs to American Cameron Tringale, who has set a testing target of 9-under par with his superb, bogey-free round.

Cheers!

17:19
Are you not entertained?!

Ian Poulter cards an 8-over par 78.

Meanwhile, Justin Thomas has a chance to get into the red figures for the day at No. 13 but his effort slides by, leaving him a tester for par.

Scotland's Bob MacIntyre is going the wrong way, too, and is 2-over par. But he's just played a beauty into 15...

17:11
Homa and Cantlay are sticking around...

American players Patrick Cantlay and Max Homa are both 1-under each thru 11 holes.

Cantlay was widely speculated to be the top-10 player in the OWGR who will make the jump to LIV Golf.

Homa, on the other hand, has spoken out against it, pledging his loyalty to the PGA Tour.

Leaderboard on the hour...

C. Tringale -9

G. Woodland -6

J. Harding -5

M. Pereira, K. Kitayama, R. Hojgaard -4

A. Smalley, B. Wu, R. Palmer, E. Ferguson, S. Burns, N. Hojgaard, D. Fritelli, D. Ghim -3

17:01
Collin Morikawa is grinding it out...

Collin Morikawa is 1-over par thru 13 holes.

He's had three birdies and four bogeys.

Early indications suggest the cut will be about level par...

He's playing with Matt Fitzpatrick who is even par for the day.

16:50
A forgettable day so far for LIV Golf's Ian Poulter

Ian Poulter has had better days.

He was unapologetic in his decision making earlier in the week

He's currently 6-over par with two holes left to play.

The Englishman has made one birdie today, at No. 10, alongside seven bogeys.

It's his driving that has been the issue today. The Englishman has been wayward off the tee, to say the least.

Kitayama moves in the right direction...

Kurt Kitayama picks up a birdie at his 12th hole of the day and moves to 4-under par alongside Mito Pereira and Rasmus Hojgaard.

Ryan Fox is Mr Steady

Ryan Fox has been in ridiculous form as of late.

He notched another top-3 finish last weekend.

The Kiwi was a winner on the DP World Tour back in February and has notched 11 straight pars today.

Although as I type this, he's dropped his first shot of the day at the par-4 13th...

LIV Golf's Justin Harding speaks to the media...

Justin Harding, who carded a 5-under par opening round to sit in solo third for the time being, has been speaking to the media.

He was one of four LIV Golf players who were late entries into this field after legal intervention by Ian Poulter's team

“I haven't had too many issues,” he said. “There are times when it's a little uncomfortable. The European Tour guys have been fine, but the PGA Tour guys are in a different boat. I don’t want to get into the specifics of all of that. I am trying my best just to play golf. I’m not confrontational at the best of times. But it’s an awkward situation to be in.”

He continued: “Look, at the end of the day it [LIV] was an event, it was an invitational, it was worth a bucketload of money. It felt like I could play in it. I felt I was entitled to play in the event, and I chose to do so.

"Whether or not I have made the right decision, we’ll have to wait and see what happens. I always thought it would be a bit tricky, but I didn’t realize it would get blown up as much as this, I have to be honest. But ultimately all I am worried about is my golf.”

Thanks a lot Matt.

Ben back to see you through to the end of coverage for day one of the Genesis Scottish Open at The Renaissance Club.

Stand by for some developing news...

A treacherous afternoon in East Lothian!

As it stands, there is one player out on the course at The Renaissance Club in the top 26 places on the leaderboard.

American Kurt Kitayama is 4-under-par after 12 holes, making four birdies and one bogey after starting on hole 10.

The likes of Matt Fitzpatrick, Hideki Matsuyama, Justin Thomas and Will Zalatoris are all over-par for the day...

Horschel struggling on latest DP World Tour appearance...

Billy Horschel is one of the most enthusiastic American players on the DP World Tour, but this has not shown on Thursday at the Genesis Scottish Open...

With two bogeys and a double-bogey on the par-5 3rd hole, Horschel is 4-over-par after 10 holes and he is 13 shots behind Cameron Tringale.

The 35-year-old, who won the Memorial Tournament earlier this season on the PGA Tour, came tied 26th at the BMW International Open.

In his press conference earlier in the week at The Renaissance Club, Horschel ranted about the attitude of the LIV Golf rebels who are trying to come back to the PGA Tour and the DP World Tour...

Double-bogey for Fitzpatrick!

After making a solid start through his first five holes, Matt Fitzpatrick has double-bogeyed the 8th hole at The Renaissance Club.

The US Open champion has fallen back to 1-over par for the week on what seems to be a tougher afternoon in East Lothian.

Fitzpatrick is playing for the first time since his maiden major victory at The Country Club in Brookline...

Some reaction from Jon Rahm...

Jon Rahm is fairly pleased with his opening round of 68, despite an ugly double bogey six he made at 18 when his second shot clattered into the lip of a fairway bunker.

He pointed to his second shot on No. 8 being his best shot of the day, when he choked down on a 5-iron to set up a birdie.

"I stole one there," he told Sky Sports.

He said the vibe of the week is good because there are more players from the United States taking part.

"We are all enjoying it," the Spaniard said.

How did the big boys get on?

Some notable names are already in the clubhouse.

Early leader Tringale: "I got lucky"

Cameron Tringale spoke to the media after opening up with a stunning 9-under 61 at The Renaissance Club.

He told Sky Sports: "I got lucky this morning with the wind not being up. I got off to a slow start then decided to join the party. My putter then got red hot, and that's how you do it."

Here's that Fitzpatrick bunker nightmare from earlier...

Some reaction from Jordan Spieth...

Jordan Spieth carded an opening round of 68 that was not without it's classic Jordan Spieth moments.

"Just a tale of two nines," he told the media.
