Cleveland TA6 iron

Cleveland Golf is introducing a range of new products, including TA6 and CG1 irons, a carbon-metal wedge and the first Never Compromise putter since the company bought the brand last June.

The Cleveland TA6 irons are game improvement clubs, which Cleveland say have been engineered by removing material from the cavity and redistributing it to the sole and perimeter of the clubhead.

"This allows for a wider sole," says the makers which helps to move the centre of gravity lower and further away from the face making it easier for players of all abilities to get the ball in the air."

It’s also said to create a larger sweet spot.

"The technology behind these new irons makes it easier for players of all levels to lower their scores." says Greg Hopkins, Cleveland Golf’s president. "They will also be offered at a street price that gives our customers a great value."

TA6 irons (3-iron to pitching wedge) are offered with the ActionLite steel shafts (£399) or light weight graphite shafts (£499).

Cleveland’s CG1
irons are made from a Carbon Metal Matrix (CMM) combination aiming to take traditional blades to a new level of feel and performance.

The new material contains microscopic carbon spheres suspended within the metal which ‘help create a material 10 per-cent less dense and 15 per-cent softer than traditional carbon steel used in cast and forged club heads.’

The larger muscle at the back, says Cleveland, helps promote a higher ball flight, especially in the long irons.

"These CG1 irons combine tomorrow’s technology with yesterday’s classic design," says Hopkins, "We believe they are the best feeling blades ever made." Cost for eight irons (3- PW) is £699.

Great feeling CG10 wedge.

Cleveland’s range of CG10 wedges are made from identical CCM materials for better feel and performance, even compared with the company’s original top-rated wedges.

"We believe this wedge will turn the industry on its ear," adds Hopkins.

The CG10 is available with a satin chrome finish with lofts of 54, 56 and 60 degrees – all of which have three bounce options. A 52-degree wedge is available with a standard bounce only. Cost is £109.

The distinctive black and grey-headed Never Compromise Voodoo putter is the first model designed by Cleveland, since taking over the brand eight months ago.

It’s a face-balanced mallet with a ‘soft, yet solid feel’ and its heavy tungsten heel-toe weighting and deeper centre of gravity claims to reduce backspin and skid.

The Voodoo is available in either a traditional heel mounted model or offset centre-shafted. Cost is £119.
