Ryder Cup captain and six times major winner Nick Faldo, has joined TaylorMade-adidas in a consulting role that includes product design and equipment testing as well player evaluation.

In addition to playing TaylorMade clubs and balls and wearing adidas clothing and footwear, Faldo will also act as a sounding board on marketing and advertising campaigns.

"Nick Faldo is one of the game's true champions, and we're excited to add such an amazing asset to the family," says company president Mark King.

"Nick's knowledge of the game, his passion, winning attitude and connection to the best players in the world will help our business continue to flourish."

Says Faldo: "I've always been impressed with TaylorMade-adidas and I'm proud to join a team that's at the top of the industry.

"I've been a student of the game for 35 years and I can't wait to start working with the team and Tour Staff players."

Faldo has won 43 times on Tour worldwide and captured the European Order of Merit twice, dominating the game from 1987-1998,during which time he won the Open Championship and US Masters three times each.

He was a member of 11 European Ryder Cup teams from 1977 until 1997 will captain the European team in September at Valhalla in Kentucky. Faldo is also lead analyst for CBS Sports' golf coverage and on the Golf Channel.
