Garmin unveils Approach S2
New features include layup and dogleg distances
Garmin has launched its stylish Approach S2 GPS watch for 2013, which comes pre-loaded with 30,000 worldwide courses and free lifetime course updates.
Similar to the popular S1 version, the S2 takes things up a notch with the addition of layup and dogleg distances and digital scorecard.
The S2 has the ability to measure shot distances to the front, middle and back of the green with clear, easy-to-read numbering, as well as measure your total walking distance with a course odometer.

Worldwide courses with free course updates: The S2 is preloaded with more than 30,000 courses from around the world. Whether you're on a course near home, a course at a holiday resort or the Old Course atSt. Andrews, the S2 knows where you are and how far you have to go. Every Approach S2 includes free lifetime course updates, without additional subscriptions. Updates are added up to 4 times a year and are available through CourseView Updater.
Quick and easy: No complicated setup, no searching for the right golf course or specific hole, so your playing partners won't be affected. Before you start to play; just switch on S2, it detects which golf course you are on and even transfers you automatically from one hole to the next. Ensuring you're receiving the correct information for the hole you are on. Just enjoy the game.
Lock in and measure distances: The high-sensitivity GPS receiver gives you distances to the front, middle and back of the green, plus layup and dogleg distances to improve usability over the entire hole.
Digital scorecard: The S2 easily keeps track of your score throughout your round. When you're done, use the included USB cable to connect S2 to your computer to download, store and print your scorecards. Then, chart your progress, or brag to your friends.
