Bill Blighton dies

Bill Blighton, one of the most respected Golf Writers in the business died yesterday after suffering from a heart attack in America.

The 54-year-old writer, a member of The Association of Golf Writers for 25 years died in hospital in New Jersey.

Bill worked in the UK for the Exchange Telegraph Agency for many years and then Today newspaper before moving to the States, where he married his second wife, Margaret, in 1994.

Bill filed copy for most British National newspapers as he covered the PGA Tour each week.

He is survived in the UK by his first wife, Carole, and daughter Hayley and son Paul.
