Mickelson: Food Poisoning
Phil Mickelson was rushed to an emergency unit with suspected food poisoning...
Phil Mickelson was taken ill earlier in the week with suspected food poisoning and had to be rushed to the emergency room at a hospital near San Diego just days before he was scheduled to defend the Buick Invitational.
The American left-hander spent seven and a half hours on the emergency unit until he checked out at 7.00pm on Monday evening.
But after some unpleasant treatment, Mickelson believes he will be fit enough to play this week at Torrey Pines in San Diego.
His manger, Steve Loy said of the incident:
"Phil is feeling better after a tough day on Monday. Phil is hopeful to completely recover in time to play in this week's Buick Invitational but is day-to-day, as per his doctor's orders."
