Cutler joins pro ranks with TaylorMade-adidas Golf

One to Watch: Paul Cutler

Following an outstanding amateur career which ended on a high with an unbeaten contribution to GB&I’s Walker Cup victory earlier this month, Paul Cutler is now looking forward to making his mark on the European Tour.

Despite missing the cut on his pro debut at last week’s Austrian Open, those Northern Irish eyes remain fixed on securing a tour card for 2012.

With tournament invitations landing on his door mat by the second, Cutler will be looking to earn approximately €215,000 by the end of the season to avoid heading to the dreaded qualifying school, where he’s scheduled to play in Stage One in early October.

But the 22-year-old from Portstewart will have every possible chance to keep the dream alive, having put pen to paper on a new sponsorship deal with TaylorMade-adidas Golf.

The 2010 Lytham Trophy champion, who turned professional shortly after sipping champagne at the Balgownie Links of Royal Aberdeen, will use TaylorMade equipment, Ashworth apparel and adidas-Golf footwear.

TaylorMade-adidas Golf have also secured the services of another GB&I Walker Cup hero in 23-year-old Jack Senior.

Senior etched his name above Cutler’s on the Lytham Trophy earlier this year, before claiming the New South Wales Amateur Championship in Australia.

Commenting on the double signing, Ian Watts, Director of Sports Marketing for TaylorMade-adidas Golf Europe said: “We are delighted to be signing two talented golfers with such great amateur records. Paul and Jack are exciting, young players and we are confident that they will both go on to achieve great success in their professional careers.”
