Ta Shee after the World Cup

The Westin Ta Shee resort in Taiwan is hoping to claim the 2001 EMC World Cup

Ta Shee after the World Cup

Ta Shee Golf and Country Club put Taiwan on the international golf map when it hosted the Johnnie Walker Classic.

Now it's after the high-profile World Golf Championships-EMC World Cup in 2001.

“We hope to have the opportunity to extend our services to the World Cup,” Ta Shee general manager Victor Chou recently said. “It’s very important because I have the support from my owners. I’m making all the contacts.”

The main reason for Ta Shee’s interest in more high-profile professional events is to draw worldwide attention to the resort, controlled by international developer H.C. Chang’s Hone Shee Group. The Hone Shee Group, which recently signed a 10-year deal with Westin to help market its Ta Shee resort, has interests in several courses in Taiwan and China.
