Tiger Woods believes he can break Jack Nicklaus' major record of 18 titles, despite still being absent from the game.

Woods, 40, has won 14 majors, the last of which came back at the 2008 US Open, but has not played a competitive round on the PGA Tour since August 2015.

Many people believe Woods will do well to win another tournament, let alone another major, but Woods, appearing on Charlie Rose's show on PBS on Thursday, only has eyes for five more majors.

Rose asked Woods whether he was going to get to 18 major wins, to which Woods replied: "To be honest with you, no. I've accepted I'm going to get more."

Woods this week revealed his new TGR brand, marking the start of a second chapter in his life as an athlete and businessman.
