WATCH: Bubba Watson sends shot into tree, nearly hits him in the face!

Bubba Watson had a close call during the first round of the RBC Canadian Open on Thursday. On his second shot on the par-4 5th hole at Glen Abbey, Watson’s ball instead boomeranged off a nearby tree, nearly smacking him in the head on the return.

The two-time Masters champion went to bogey the hole en route to a 2-under 70 to lie seven strokes off the early pace set by fellow big hitter Robert Garrigus.

England's Ian Poulter got off to a solid start with a 6-under 66, with compatriot Tommy Fleetwood also starting brightly on 5-under with two holes of his first round left to play due bad light stopping the opening day's play.
